Tracy Maurice is a Montréal-based visual artist and filmmaker known for her crafted multidisciplinary worlds that include photography, film/video, sculpture, drawing, and installation.

Maurice first gained recognition as the creative director for the band Arcade Fire, where she created iconic album artwork, stage design, and video projects for the albums Neon Bible and Funeral, including the groundbreaking interactive music video Black Mirror.

Her work explores the intersection of analog craftsmanship and digital media, delving into themes of temporality, mythology, dream states, and our connection to nature. Drawing on an Art History background, Maurice incorporates influences from early cinema, weaving in elements of special effects, science, and magic into her practice to create distinctive visual narratives.

Her work has since been exhibited internationally, at venues and exhibitions such as the 11th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, HAM Helsinki Art Museum and ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival (Helsinki), (in collaboration with Dana Michel), and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (New York).

Maurice has given talks at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, Berklee College of Music, and HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg. She has also taught filmmaking at the IDFA Film Academy Summer Program at UC Berkeley and participated in artist residencies at RU (New York) and SÍM (Reykjavik).
